Never enough room, especially during the winter, for all the tender tropical's we have, so having tinkered in the gardening business in the past I suggested we build a greenhouse.
In 1998 Lynn and I started building the structure, I redesigned a set of plans we liked. Nothing big or fancy but large enough to hold our deck plants during the winter.
I had certain requirements like water, lights, overhead fan, a swamp cooler and windows that opened for those wonderful fall days.
For me, the smell of a moist greenhouse is a relaxing sensation. I love to putter, pot, and piddle around the greenhouse during the spring, and our new addition satisfies that need.
I'm particularly fond of ferns and bromeliads and I have a hard time resisting the urge to rescue one or two from Home Depot when I'm there for nuts and bolts. It's a good thing Lynn keeps me in check or we'd be up to our eyeballs in more plants.
